What is Radiofrequency Microneedling?

Just like traditional microneedling, radiofrequency microneedling uses very fine, thin sterile needles to create hundreds of controlled microscopic skin injuries that trigger a skin healing process that leads to new collagen formation. Radiofrequency microneedling offers the additional benefit of radiofrequency heat energy delivered to skin’s deeper layers. When compared to traditional microneedling, the addition of radiofrequency heat breaks down old and damaged collagen and stimulates the skin’s collagen factory to produce new healthy collagen that improves skin tone and texture and tightens skin. Radiofrequency microneedling repairs, restores and regenerates collagen and elastin so your skin can be smoother, tighter and have a beautiful healthy glow. Don’t settle for just microneedling when you can obtain far better skin tone and tightening results from radiofrequency microneedling.

What skin problems respond well to Radiofrequency Microneedling?

Potenza Radiofrequency Microneedling is excellent for addressing active acne blemishes and acne scarring, enlarged pores, and stretch marks. Where Potenza really excels is at tightening and firming loose, saggy skin. It can be used safely year round on all skin tones from very pale to very dark. Jaw jowls, facial folds, tech neck, crepey skin on the decollete, arms and abdomen all respond very well to radiofrequency microneedling. Potenza radiofrequency microneedling can also be used to help condition the scalp for hair rejuvenation treatments.

Why Potenza Radiofrequency Microneedling?

Dr. Tkatch chose Potenza Radiofrequency Microneedling technology by Cynosure Lasers over other technologies, including Morpheus8, and SylfirmX after carefully researching all of the available technologies. Her concern for efficacy, safety, customization and comfort of treatments led her to choose Potenza for herself and her clients.  Potenza allows Dr. Tkatch to choose either Bipolar or Monopolar energy delivery for your treatment. Other technologies, like Morpheus8 radiofrequency microneedling, only deliver Bipolar energy, which is not as safe or comfortable for clients with darker skin tone. Many of Dr. Tkatch’s clients who have experienced a Morpheus treatment report that it was excruciatingly painful. While Morpheus treatments can be highly effective, they only work if the client can withstand the discomfort of treatment. Potenza treatments are highly customizable for Bipolar vs Monopolar energy, 1 hz vs. 2 hz energy delivery, total time of energy delivery, insulated vs. semi-insulated needles, number of needles per tip and needle depth penetration. Customizing these parameters based on your skin tone, your skin concerns and your comfort level allow us to deliver a treatment just for you, not one based on technology presets that may not be safe, effective or tolerable for you.

What is a Fusion Tip and why does it matter?

Potenza allows full tip customization, including insulated and semi-insulated tips, and is the only radiofrequency microneedling device to offer the unique Fusion Tip. The Fusion Tip uses patented technology that significantly improves the absorption of boosters applied to the skin during treatment. Popular booster choices are hyaluronic acid and platelet-rich plasma as well as exosome stem cells.

What should I expect at my Potenza Radiofrequency Microneedling treatment?

Please allow two weeks between injectable appointments like Botox and Filler and your Potenza radiofrequency microneedling treatment. Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. If you are prone to cold sores we will ask you to start an anti-viral medication prior to treatment.  You will have a prescription strength numbing ointment applied to your skin prior to treatment. During the treatment you will have access to a Zimmer chilled-air blower and Nitronox laughing gas to alleviate any discomfort.  Your treatment will take approximately an hour, not including numbing time. Following treatment you may experience temporary redness and swelling if you are light skin-toned. Recovery varies from one to three days, with most people able to return to full activities within 24 hours. Some people experience minor itchiness and those with oilier skin may experience a temporary breakout.

How many Potenza Radiofrequency Microneedling treatments will I need?

The number of treatments needed depends entirely on your goals, your skin concerns and your age at treatment. In general, most people over the age of 30 need one treatment per decade of life. A 50-year-old would generally need five treatments, spaced approximately one month apart.

When will I start to see improvement in my skin after Potenza radiofrequency microneedling?

If you are having blemishes treated, they will improve within weeks. If you are treating for skin tone, texture and tightening then your results will start to be noticeable after the second treatment with improvement up to 6 months after your last treatment.

Can I combine Potenza radiofrequency microneedling with other treatments?

The best skin treatment results are seen with a comprehensive program that includes good home skincare, non-invasive treatments including injectables like Botox and Filler and energy-based treatments including lasers and radiofrequency microneedling. Our expert providers, including Dr. Shelin Tkatch and certified aesthetic nurses Sharon Vandecasteyen and Kseniya Gavris will recommend a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.

How much does radiofrequency microneedling cost?

Cost of radiofrequency microneedling reatments vary across clinics depending on the technology chosen, the expertise and education of the provider and the level of medical supervision available for your treatment. These are medical treatments and if not carefully and appropriately delivered can result in infection, burns, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and poor or no results. Most reputable clinics charge upwards of $1000/treatment and offer discounts for treatment packages. We are happy to customize your treatment plan complete with comprehensive pricing information at your consultation. If you elect to have boosters like hyaluronic acid, platelet-rich plasma or exosomes added to your treatment, this will increase the treatment cost.
